He grabbed his toy

I don't know how this happened. I layed him on his play mat and came to the computer. I heard the rattle and figured he hit it. I looked back and he was holding it. I didn't give it to him. I guess his hand hit it in the right way. He was holding it for like 5 minutes. My baby is definitely growing up.

Slept through the night...

That's right, he slept through the night last night. He ate at 8:30. I was able to get in bed at 9:25. Then he didn't wake up till 5:00. I fed him at 5:15. That was 7 hrs and 35 minutes of straight sleep for me! Well, I'm sure Daddy's snoring kept me up a little. But, I didn't have to get out of bed for Colby. I wonder if this will keep up. It would be nice since I go back to work in 2 days. Of course I still rocked myself to sleep with him later on.

Mon night- 9:05-12:05 , 12:20-2:30, 2:50-4:55, 6:25-6:55, 7:50-8:25 7 hrs 15 min

Tues night- 9:00-2:10, 2:40-5:20, 5:50-6:50, 9:20-9:50 9 hrs 10 min

Wed night- 10:40-2:30, 3:15-6:00, 6:20-8:30 8 his 45 min

Thurs night- 9:10-9:50, 11:00-1:55 , 2:20-5:10, 6:40-7:40 7 hrs 25 min

Fri night- 9:35-1:45, 2:10-4:55, 6:20-6:55, 8:10-8:50 7 hrs 25 min

Sat night- 9:00-3:20, 4:20-6:10 7 hrs 10 min

Sun night- 10:00-3:10, 3:50-6:05, 6:35-7:10 8 hrs



Looks like I got enough sleep. But, I will be working at some of the times that I have been sleeping.

Going back to work

I decided to go back to work on the 30th. That will put me taking 10 1/2 weeks of FMLA. I cried before I took him to the sitter the other day. It will be very hard being away from him. I've cried going to sleep a few times.

9 weeks old...

He had his 2 month appointment today. He weighs 13 lbs 5 oz and is 23.5 inches long. He got shots and his foot stuck for jaundice again. He was not happy with that.

We put him in his crib for the first time last night. I had the monitor on high. It's going lower tonight. I never heard him make all those noises. Apparently it magnifies it. I kept getting up when I heard him.

He had been doing good with sleeping at night. Until the last 2 nights. He'd wake up between 12:30 and 3:30 then between 4:30 and 7:30. Point is only twice. He'd go straight to bed after bath and nursing. That is out the window now. Why now when I'm going back to work? Please let it go back. I never knew how it was that he slept longer at night. I was afraid this would happen.

This pic is from 4:45 Am. He his very happy at that time. I just want him to go back to sleep! His Daddy thought it was funny. I told him we'll see how funny it is when I go back to work and he gets up with him too!

He also is not napping. I rock him to sleep. After he's asleep for 5 m in I put him down and he wakes up after being down for 5 minutes. I put him down at least 6 times in an hour yesterday. It is really exhausting. I'm really worried about what will happen at daycare.

He loves his bath with the shower to it. That is of course unless he was fussy before we start it. If that is the case, we make it quick.

Bottle update...

He has taken a bottle from Mrs. Pat, Mel and my Mom. And he finally took one from Rowdy last night! I brought him to Stephanie (sitter) on Tuesday and he took it from her. He was there for about 3 hours while I got my hair done. We thought it was the type of bottle he didn't like. But, the other day, he took all 3 kinds from Melanie.

Bottle Problems

Well, after all the problems I had with Colby wanting the bottle over the breast in the beginning, I stopped giving him the bottle. The last time was Good Friday. Well, now that I'm going back to work. I wanted to get him used to the bottle again. Who knew how hard that would be. We've been trying for about a week now. He cries and cries. We tried getting a different bottle too. They say that he most likely won't take it from me because he'll smell me and want to nurse. Melanie has gotten him to do it a couple of times. He took 5 oz with her yesterday. He has taken a little bit from me too. He won't take it from Rowdy though. I really want him to. That way he can feed him during the night sometimes too when I go back to work. Rowdy can't calm him when he's fussy either.

The rocking him right away when he cries seems to be working. He normally goes to sleep. Problem is getting him to stay down to nap. Yesterday he wore up screaming in his bassinet. He never screams at night. I know my sitter won't be able to rock him all day. It really worries me that she'll have to call me to pick him up because of his screaming.

It's hard for me to pump during the day and get other things done. I don't want to pump and him not take it. Then I won't have anything left to nurse him. When someone else does it, I can pump more if he seems to want it. That way I know I won't need it to nurse with.
