RSV

Colby started having a cough and leeky nose since the Friday before Christmas (Christmas was on a Tuesday). He also didn't want to eat much solids. I figured it was sinus drip and he had a bad taste in his throat. Well, he woke up every 1/2 hour the night after Christmas. Ya know his normal every couple of hours was bad enough! So, I decided to take him to the clinic the Thursday after Christmas. They heard some wheezing and asked if he had ever been on breathing treatments. I was like, no, he's only been sick twice. Once was an ear infection at 3 months. The other was a stomach thing the month before that. They gave him a breathing treatment in the clinic. I had asked the Dr. about RSV and she didn't think that was what it is because of his age and there were no other cases around here that she knew of. Well, the respiratory theripist that gave the treatment suggested that he be checked for it. She wrote me Rxs for the nebulizer and two meds for it, an antiobiotic for his ear infections and one for his leeky nose. She sent me to social services anout the nebulizer. She called me while I was there and the RSV test came back positive. All I could think was how she wasn't even gonna do it. She said that the treatment was the same for that and reactive airway disease whinch the diagnosed him with origionally. I called the sitter and she said he could still go because it wasn't contagous. I called the Dr. and she said that if it was only older kids there, it would be OK. But, if she had infants that caught it, it could be serious and it was ver contagious. That they put them in isolation for it. So, chances are that Colby caught it from daycare. The sitter said she didn't know of anyone having it. Just that her daughter had it when she was a baby. I read about babies not liking the treatments. I didn't use a mask for Colby and he didn't seem to mind doing it. He actually plays with it. They said I could use a mask. But, it wasn't necessary. The Dr. said that she'd keep him out of daycare for the rest of the week. She said to keep him on the treatments till he stops coughing. So, I don't know how long to expect it to be. I didn't even notice the wheezing. I was just tired of chasing after him with a Kleenx! I tell ya, when Colby gets sick, he doesn't play around.

He weighed 18 lbs 6 oz at his appointment. But, I think he had lost some weight due to not eating very much because he was sick.

Update- I kept him on the treatments and other medicines for 10 days. It wasn't bad at all.

Colby's 1st Christmas

Rowdy was working days for Christmas day. We went to his Mom's Christmas Eve to exchange gifts.

After we got home, we took pictures of him in one of his Christmas outfits.

Here's his Baby's 1st Christmas PJ's.

Christmas Day at Grammy's

We went to Aunt Cathy's after.

Colby was really tired at the end of the day.

Thanksgiving

Rowdy was was working for Thanksgiving. Colby and I went to Jenny's house.

Carroll had to give him a turkey leg.

He also got a present. This was a preview for Christmas and the first present he ever attempted to open. He liked the toy and the paper.

He wasn't too interested in eating his solids that day.

Santa

Grammy got to babysit him and she took him to see Santa. He wasn't scared or excited. She said he was just looking at the lights.

8 Months old

How time flies! Here he is at 8 months old. He likes to play with blankets. We were playing peek-a-boo with one. We's let it go over his face and he's crack up.

His new thing is chewing on tags. I think he looks like a mechanic in this one.

Things that he does that we love because they are so cute

When he sneezes and he makes a cute noise after.

How he does the Colby. He moves his hands and feet in circles. He's always done this and I thought all babies did it. But, his sitter said nope, it's just him.

He'll laugh if we stick our tongue out or shake our head.

Raspberries...need I say more.

He has started rolling all over the place. We have a big blanket on the floor. He will roll until he gets off of it and then he stays put.

How he will stop what ever he is doing and find a way to see the TV when he hears the Sponge Bob or Fairly Odd Parents songs.

He gets excited when Daddy dries off his hands on the towel that's on the shower rod.

How he shakes his head no over and over.

He is getting very ticklish.

There are so many more. But, that all that is what comes to mind right now.

7 Months

His 6 month appointment ended up being at almost 7 months. He weighed 18 lbs, 6 oz and was 27 inches long. I was shocked! Everyone thought he weighed at least 20 lbs. But, he is doing good because they are supposed to double their birth weight by 6 months.

Here are some pics from his 7 month B-day. He is getting more strength in his legs. He still won't sit up very well. He is rolling over more though.

Here is how he is looking in the weight and length percentile.

Halloween

Remember him in my belly from last year?

Here he is in his Halloween shirt that he wore to daycare.

Here's the Lil Tigger.

Off we go to Trick-or-Treat with Nanny

This was going to be his costume till Daddy wouldn't let the idea of the Tigger go. So, I put him in it after his bath just to model it.

New tub

He out grew his infant tub with the shower. He's still not sitting very well on his own. This tub is difficult because he is so slippery. I think he is uncomfortable in it too.

His first wedding

Carroll put a beer in his hand.

Family pic.
He did the money dance.
Mommy and baby.
The wedding was about 1.5 hours away. Everything went well other than the diaper explosion in church.

6 months old

All dresses to go to NeNe's

His 1/2 year old B-day presents.

We didn't have his 6 month appointment yet. It will be on the 9th. I can't wait to see how much he weighs. We went buy him a new car seat yesterday. The one he has id for up to 22 lbs. We also bought some size 3 diapers. Oh, and a new rocker for him. His is outgrowing his bouncy. I will post some pics of the rocker later. We just took him out of it.

He still does not sleep well at night. He was running a fever for 2 days last week. It went down with Tylenol. We think it was from teething. We don't see anything yet. But, it would explain some things.

Solids

He still likes his cereal. Right now he gets it in the morning. That means it is usually at daycare. She puts 1 oz formula to 3 tbsp cereal. I switch up what I send between oatmeal and rice. When I give it to him I use 4 tbsp formula.

So far we have given him sweet potatoes, carrots and squash. We were giving him his solids after his bath and before nursing and bed. He would scream from the time it was gone till I got him situated to nurse. Now I give it to him with the feeding before that. Here's a pic of him with sweet potatoes.

5 months old

Just some 5 month pictures.

Growing

Look at the difference. I don't put him in it anymore. I just set him there for a couple of minutes while I went get something for his bath. Then I decided to take a pic.
